Dear Poynter Patriot Families
I am writing with news to share with you. As some of you know, I have accepted the position of Principal of Century High School. It was not an easy decision, and it is difficult to end my time at Poynter.
I have thoroughly enjoyed serving as the principal for such a dedicated and skilled staff. I want to thank each of you for your support and caring during my time here. I count Poynter Middle School as one of the best years in my career. I know it will continue to be the best middle school in the district.
Please know that my work as your principal will not end until a successful transition with your next principal has occurred. Chief Human Resources Officer Debbie Ashley will be coordinating the process to find a new principal, and this process will also include parents. The position posted on July 22, 2015 and interviews will take place the week of August 3, 2015. Once a new principal is selected, I will support this person in whatever they need to begin their work as your principal.
I am deeply honored to have worked with each of you. The timing of this transition saddens me in that it does not allow the opportunity for me to say goodbye to each of you in person. Please know that I will always carry you with me—a part of me will always be a Patriot.
Best wishes to you,
