Hello parents, visitors and staff!
Today I am writing to let you all know about a concerted effort that we are making regarding the student pick up area in front of the school. The aim of this is to keep our students and families safe while we move many people through what is admittedly a tight area. If you have ever ended up stuck waiting on Davis to turn into our front parking lot you probably already know it fills up fast. What we are asking from you is this; When you pick up, pull all the way to the front of the line. As space is made available please continue to pull forward allowing those stuck out on Davis to pull into the parking lot. This allows them to stop blocking the traffic behind them. Another issue is cars being left unattended. Please; if you are not parked in a marked parking space we cannot have you leave your vehicle for any amount of time.
Thank you for your help and cooperation as we try to make SMMS a safer place.
Dear South Meadows parents and families,
The end of the year is almost here and it's time to think about 8th grade completion! This year we will have two assemblies to provide more room for friends and families
to celebrate this milestone with their loved one. Both assemblies take place on June 11 and the schedule is as follows:
1st assembly at 9:15 for students in the following advisory classes: Appert, , Bautista Hillis, Leishman, Medna, McClure, Nagler, Parsons, Schwartz, Shelton
2nd assembly at 12:00 for students in the following advisory classes: Buhler, Deering, Englen, Formel, Gutierrez, Lassen, McClure, Talbot, Trinh
There will be a small social time after each assembly for students and families to take pictures, congratulate each other, and share some snacks.
The requirement for students to be involved in completion is a cumulative 2.0 grade point average for their 7th and 8th grade years.
Teachers will submit grades on the evening of June 9, and students not meeting the requirement will be informed on June 10. Parents will also be notified by phone.
7th grade students will have regular classes throughout the day on the 11th, and at the end of the day all students will do a final locker clean out and take EVERYTHING home.
Friday, June 12 is the all school talent show and carnival and students need to bring only their yearbook, if they purchased one, and a pen to school.
All Students are provided lunch on the last day, but if a student does bring lunch we will store it for them as there is no locker access on Friday.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to call or email!
