Tobias Action Photo Shots
Parents, we are going to add another 20-25 new photos (students who aren’t already on the wall) to our gym walls. The photos that we currently have up have brightened our gym and inspired our students. If you wish to participate, please e-mail your favorite/best “action” photo shot of your child to Mr. Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org
. It can be one of them involved in sports, or just being physically active. Once photos are submitted, 20-25 will be selected for enlargement, laminating and display in the gym. 15th annual Tiger Trek jog-a-thon and Crazy hair day is coming!
Tiger Trek pledge packets will go home on Friday September 19th! Parents, if you would like to volunteer, we would love to have your help! Each session includes at least one full grade level and each class has their own color station.* Volunteers are needed to give out rubber bands for laps, set-up, clean-up, water station and cheering! Tobias Elementary School Picture Day will be Thursday, September 18th
Picture Day ID: FO744061Q0 (for online use- mylifetouch.com) Parents can create their own package from the expanded online selection. Quickly order and pay for portraits online and pay by credit card.
Vision screening programs are intended to help identify children who may have undetected vision problems and refer them for further evaluation. Tobias Vision Screening for Kindergarten through 3rd grade will be on Wednesday September 24th, 8 am – 1 pm, in the gym. We still need approximately 20 volunteers to help at this important event. The training is on-site, quick and simple. If your background check has been approved and you're available to volunteer, please email Becca Wozny – email@example.com
Invitations went out this last Friday for those who completed the Summer Library Reading Program at the Hillsboro Library. If your child did not receive an invitation, but completed the Summer Reading Program (possibly registered at a different Washington County Library) please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

For the FIRST TIME EVER , Oregon International Air Show Run on the Runway 5k to benefit HSF!(September 21, 2014) Take off for your morning run on the Hillsboro Airport runway. The Oregon International Air Show is hosting a run, right on the runway, right next to the airplanes and helicopters. It's a flat course, with so much to see! It's our first one, so it's limited to the first 500 participants. We can't do this without sponsors, so special thanks to the Port Of Portland, New Balance, TriQuint, The Oregon International Air Show, Synopsys, Dr. Rask, Umpua Bank and Providence. Tobias Chess Club
This year, Chess club will run from late October through February and will meet one day a week (most likely Tuesdays) for an hour after school. Mr. Sayre is looking for volunteers who play chess to help run the program. Ability to teach strategy is greatly appreciated! Reminder for parents
When dropping off students, please use the vehicle drop off loop. Students should not be dropped off in front of the school, in between traffic, or where the buses pull in. The school does have signs indicating where/not to drop off. Let's all be courteous, respectful, safe and set a good example.
