Welcome New Principal, John Allen
Ver en Español

Dear West Union Families,

Today, I have something to share with you that isn’t related to the water situation at our school!

As you know, this year will be my last as principal of West Union, as I have taken a job in the Central School District in Independence/Monmouth, beginning this summer.

This morning, Superintendent Scott announced the selection of a new principal for West Union: Mr. John Allen, currently a 4th grade teacher at Quatama Elementary School.

Mr. Allen began his educational career in 2003 as a 1st grade teacher at Woodlawn Elementary School in Portland. He then moved to Patterson Elementary School in 2004, where he taught both 1st and 4th grades until he transferred to Quatama in 2008. He has actively pursued professional growth opportunities over the past six years, and has been a member of the Future Leaders cohort since 2012. He is charismatic, energetic and committed to student success.

John’s position at West Union will include both administrative and licensed responsibilities, allowing him to remain at the school full time.

It has been my sincere honor and pleasure to work with the students, staff, families and broader community of West Union over the past year. Thank you for your support and involvement and please extend a warm welcome to Mr. Allen.

Sincerely,

Craig Harlow
Principal
