 Fourth/Fifth Grade Minimize


  
 Egg Drop Designs
Here is Mr. Trousdale’s class testing their egg drop designs. Students needed to design and build a structure out of toothpicks that would protect their egg from being dropped off the school roof. Unfortunately the success rate was 0% but kids came up with lots of ideas on how they would design their protective “cage” next time.

 Homework Policy

Fourth Grade

  • Students will spend a minimum of 30-45 minutes per day on homework.
  • Homework is an extension of, or related to, what is taught during the school day.
  • Students will finish assignments not completed in school.
  • Students will memorize the multiplication facts from 0 to 9 and practice addition and subtraction facts.
  • Students will practice their spelling words at home.
  • Students will practice penmanship (cursive writing), if needed.
  • Students will read independently for enjoyment.
  • At times, students will work on research or special projects at home.

Fifth Grade

  • Students will spend a minimum of 30-45 minutes per day on homework.
  • Students will finish assignments not completed in school.
  • Students will practice math facts, if needed.
  • Students will practice their spelling words at home.
  • Students will read independently for enjoyment.
  • At times, students will work on research or special projects at home.
