 Kindergarten Homework Policy
  • Parents should read to their child 15 minutes each day. This is the most important part parents can play in helping their child learn to read. The teacher may send books home with students to read to their parents.
  • Parents should help their child learn weekly assigned sight words.
  • Parents should talk to their child about letters and letter sounds from meaningful print in their environment (cereal boxes, signs, books, etc.).
  • Parents should help reinforce math vocabulary and concepts (shapes, counting, numeral recognition) in meaningful ways (count silverware at dinner time, cook together, find patterns in furniture, wallpaper, etc.).
  • Parents should help teach their child important personal information (name, address, telephone number, birthday, age, etc.).
