Hearing Screenings at Jackson on Feb 19th
Starting in February, the District will conduct hearing screenings for students in grades K, 1 and 3 in partnership with the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.
Students who do not pass the initial screening will be re-screened within approximately 30 days to take into account any transient hearing loss (i.e. from a head cold). That second screening will be conducted by an audiologist from the Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD). Parents will be notified by mail if their child did not pass the second screening. An explanation of results along with resource information for possible consultation with a hearing specialist will be included in that notification.
Results for all students screened will be placed in the Health section of the students’ cumulative file. For more information or if you would like to opt your child out of the screenings, please talk to your school’s office manager or call the District’s Hearing Screening Team at 503-844-1553.
Please visit the HSD website, click on parents, click on resources, and then click on immunizations to view Washington County information about Flu and Norovirus. If you have any new information regarding immunizations, please share that with the front office.
If you need to make changes to your student’s normal going home plan, please send a signed and dated note with your student or call the office no later than 1:45.
Busing Information Can Be Found Online starting August 20, 2015. Please visit the HSD Transportation web page and look at the myBus student route information. It is suggested that you check this information periodically for updates to your student's busing information. Questions? Call 503-844-1123.
