Education:

Mr. Harris earned his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University.  He received his teaching certificate from Portland State University and has a Masters in Educational Foundations and Administration from Portland State University. 

Bio:

Mr. Harris has been teaching Social Studies in the Hillsboro School District since 1988.    He is currently in his second year teaching at South Meadows.  He has taught at the middle school level for 18 years.  He also coaches freshman football at Hillsboro High School. Mr. Harris and his wife Pam have three children in college and one Grandson. 
Class Description
Minimize
7th grade Social Studies is focused primarily on the development of culture and civiliazations.  Students will learn what a culture is, about early human development, ancient civilizations up to the renaissance.  Students will continue to develop skills in reading, note taking, map making and writing.
